DERWEN SALES AND DISTRIBUTION

Books are allocated an individual ISBN number so they can be included in the major databases of books in print that are searchable by thousands of booksellers. All titles will also be available online from the major online retailers such as Amazon. In addition, they are included in the Ingram Advance monthly catalogue that is distributed to booksellers and libraries round the world. This catalogue will show the retail price, a short paragraph describing the title and a black & white cover image.

Derwen Publishing also sells books in the UK to booksellers and leading wholesalers via Gazelle Book Services in the UK and IPG in the USA. Their service includes a listing in Nielson Book Data, a key bibliographic information source for the book trade. Each month Gazelle issues information about Forthcoming and New Titles, and they produce annual catalogues in over 50 subject areas. The Promotions Department of Gazelle will produce a full-colour information leaflet to mail to selected magazines for review and mail it to booksellers who are known to stock the relevant subject area. Their own team of representatives covers the general trade outlets, specialist booksellers, university bookshops, high street retail chains and other retail outlets such as airports and museums. Europe is covered by freelance representatives in each country (31 countries are covered at present).

Google Partner Programme

The opportunity also exists, should you choose, for books to be enrolled in the Google Partner Programme where they are scanned and held on a secure Google server. Google matches the content of books with user searches and Google Book Search and connects your books with the users who are most interested in buying them. Users are only able to preview a limited number of pages to determine whether they have found what they are looking for. Links to bookstores, online retailers and your website make it easy for users to go from browsing to buying.

In addition, Google opens the opportunity of delivering a new revenue stream via contextual ads placed next to pages from the book
