Our formula is simple, effective and direct.

Our focus is on projects that will help with health, the natural environment, and the areas of spirituality and self-help. All new projects are reviewed and assessed by our editorial and production team and, prior to making any commitment to publish with us and following receipt of our quote, authors will be invited to meet a member of our professional publishing team to discuss any queries they may have.

Manuscripts will be accepted, rejected or referred by Derwen Publishing or one of our other imprints. In each case authors are given detailed reasons for our decision. It can be that some books are publishable once editorial work has been undertaken. We will take the time and trouble to do this if necessary.

Once a manuscript is accepted, the Derwen team will guide authors through the publication process. We keep all costs to the absolute minimum, and our costs are clearly outlined in writing so authors know exactly what they will get before submitting their work. We will refer authors to our associate PR company for appropriate publicity campaigns and back-up following publication.

Our associate PR company offers a full range of services for what is the equivalent of an in-house PR Agency in order to enable the work of our clients to reach media outlets in the English-speaking world. With a combined 40 years of experience in media and marketing campaigns in the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, it has commanded media attention in all major markets. With experience in both film and publishing in mainstream and Mind Body Spirit markets, it has helped to place authors' books on Amazon.com bestsellers lists and have helped to arrange for clients to be interviewed by Oprah Winfrey.

Books from Derwen Publishing are designed to a very high specification. This is critical as so many self-published books are cheaply and badly produced and designed. Our design and production team have come from a background in high level mainstream publishing, and therefore have the knowledge and resources to ensure your book is produced to a very high standard and will be able to sit alongside projects produced by the major publishing houses.

Rights Issues
Once a book is published, it is very likely that if good sales are achieved, the author will have the option of selling rights via the agency to the major mainstream publishing houses. In fact, the acquisition of successful self-published titles by mainstream publishing houses is becoming more and more of an accepted and successful route. For example, Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now and James Redfield's Celestine Prophecy, both multi-million best sellers, were originally self-published titles. Susan Mears has years of experience in foreign rights sales and will be able to market foreign rights in your work at Frankfurt, London, USA and other major book fairs. Income received from such sales is useful to set against your initial production costs and can be an excellent long-term source of earnings. Susan will also promote rights sales on foreign deals, film, TV, audio, DVD, CD etc.
